BMW 760Li vs Mercedes S63 AMG

I was thinking about a new fun video to post up for our readers, and started chatting with our Technicians to see if they had anything fun they'd like to see here on our blog. This video popped to mind after I mentioned the E30 3 series convertible clip I last posted. James from BBC's infinitely educational car show Top Gear delivers a side by side comparison between rivals BMW and Mercedes. With a little help from The Stig, we get to find out which car is the best choice! We'd love to hear your thoughts on which car you think you'd like to drive (or be driven in!)

Top Gear Goes Historical on 80s BMW Convertibles

The fellows from Top Gear do it again! In this fun video clip, our favorite trio of car guys get their hands on late 1980s BMW 3 series convertibles, and put them to several comparison tests. One has been hacked to death with aftermarket accessories, one has an automatic transmission, and the last has a manual transmission. Hilarity ensues when first Jeremy & James head off for a 0-100 race (leaving Richard behind when his alarm system goes out of whack), followed by a trip to a forensics lab, to see just what kind of history the three cars may have experienced. Finally, they test the theft prevention of all three convertibles. As usual, when the Top Gear guys get their hands onto anything, you can expect good humo(u)r and mild disaster. The video itself is from a few years ago, but worth the watch even four years later! Enjoy

Power Outage!

Update! Power has been restored. Good job on exceeding repair time estimates, Xcel! We are experiencing an area wide power outage this morning. For the time being, our battery backups will keep the computers and phones up and running, but shop work is at a standstill. Xcel Energy states they expect power to be back by 12:42 pm

Don’t Let This Happen to You!!

Don’t Let This Happen to You!!

Almost everyone who drives any kind of vehicle has acquired some kind of dents or dings over the course of ownership, and many people have dealt with the repair of those kinds of blemishes. Sometimes a person may choose to leave a dent be for a period of time due to cost of repair or time constraints, and most of the time, this course of inaction as it were is not an issue because the body damage is cosmetic at worst and doesn't affect the driveability of the car. This week, I saw a customer who drives a lovely low mileage E36 convertible, who happens to be one of those people who had some cosmetic dents and dings. She had planned to get them repaired at a reputable body shop when time allowed, but has had many life events occurring over the last year or so, and so put it off until she would have time to be without the car. Then, a predator struck. A scammer approached her in a parking lot, and like s ... read more

Hackers?

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the cult classic film Hackers, I've dug up an article published a few days ago by the folks over at IGN.com about a device called Ownstar. It looks like a hacker has identified a weakness in the Wi-Fi security of several different car makes, including BMW. It does appear, however, that the hacker is using his powers for good, instead of evil. Click through into this post to check out the article here on IGN.com
